  • We need you! – Volunteers for the Sheffield Half Marathon and 10K

    August 20, 2021

Cavendish Cancer Care are in need of help and support from as many people as possible for the Sheffield Half Marathon and 10K which is taking place on Sunday 26th September. We need people who are willing to take on the role of volunteer marshal, this may be manning a pedestrian crossing, handing out water or generally having an eye out on the race and cheering people along. This will be the first time these events have been able to happen since 2019, many local charities not just Cavendish Cancer Care will have felt the effect of the lost income from these missed events. As such we are working hard to help make the day as big a success as possible for everyone involved and I hope you will join us in this.

As I’m sure you know events like these can only be a success with many volunteers giving of their time to keep things running (pun intended) smoothly on the day. You may remember as a partner charity of Run for All we have a team of runners out on the course raising money to support us which to date is more than 65 people and counting, but as Run for All operate on a not for profit basis they need your support to make the day happen.

The times and locations for the marshaling shifts are:
    • 07:00am-12:45pm Banner Cross Area of Ecclesall Road
    • 11:40am-16:00pm Bottom of Ecclesall Road

Many thanks for taking the time to read this

Please help if you can as with two events taking place in the same day the more people who come forward will be really appreciated. So if you don’t feel able to help yourself sharing this message with friends, family or neighbours over WhatsApp or Social media would be brilliant.
