  • Fun in the sun at Cavendish’s first Sunset Stomp!

    July 18, 2019

Thank you to everyone who joined us on the 11th July for the very first Sunset Stomp!

Whether you stomped down Mayfield Valley and made friends with the alpacas on the family route, or ventured into the rugged wilderness of Higger Tor on the 10k walk, we hope you had a fantastic evening. The event was topped off with a delicious BBQ at the Norfolk Arms (even though some of it was enjoyed inside due to unpredictable weather!)

Thanks to all the participants, sponsorship, and generous donations on the day, the Sunset Stomp has made a grand total of £3,071.50! This money helps ensure Cavendish Cancer Care can continue its vital work, offering a place of comfort for local families affected by cancer. A big thank you as well to our sponsors, Lyonhurst Life, for their support of this event.

Emma and Sophie at the Stomp

“It was such a brilliant evening,” says CEO Emma Draper, who enjoyed the walk with her daughter Sophie. “It was so nice to get out in nature with some of our lovely supporters, and take some time away from the stress of city life! We are already looking forward to next year, which we know will be even bigger and better.”

We’ve already put in a deal with the weather so that any thunder and hailstorms will skip Sheffield entirely next summer…so bring on Sunset Stomp 2020!
