  • Stay At Home Fundraising Ideas

    April 16, 2020

Whether you’re self isolating alone, with family, have been furloughed or continuing to work from home, there are some really easy ways you can get involved to continue supporting us through this uncertain time. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you let us know so we can join in too!

    1. Virtual Quiz

Make use of the technology, whether it’s FaceTime, Houseparty, Skype or Zoom. You could set a day and time each week to come together and take part in a quiz. You could take it in turns to write the quiz or maybe put together a round each. Make sure you have breaks for a brew and snack, and general chit chat!

Donate £2 per person into the pot each week and add it to our Cavendish Cares Campaign. Or split the pot 50/50, with the winner getting half of the entry fee and donate the other half to Cavendish Cares.

    2. Virtual Bake Off

What better time to practise your baking! There’s lots of simple recipes such as Brownies, Flapjacks or Banana Bread with really simple ingredients that you can find around your house. Hold a design challenge and get your friends and family to vote, or if you’re a baking enthusiast, why not do a live show and share your talent!

    3. Virtual Concert

Music is well known to cheer people up, whether you do a sing-along challenge, karaoke challenge or are part of a band and can stream a live show for your fans. Ask people to donate for each song you sing, or an entry fee to watch your show.

    4. Charity Head/Beard Shave

With barbers and hair salons currently off limits, do you brave the shave? Or do you see how far you can go? Get sponsorship from friends and family to have your hair your way – why not dye it that crazy colour you’ve never quite had the nerve for.

    5. Birthday Fundraiser

In the next few weeks and months you’ll likely be celebrating a birthday or two (or an anniversary, new job or new arrival). Donate what you would usually spend on cards and celebration to our Cavendish Cares Campaign. Why not take a look at our online fundraising tips to see how to set up a Facebook Fundraiser too!

    6. Amazon Smile!

Have you got your eye on a new book? Exercise kit? Some gardening tools or DIY supplies? If you’re browsing Amazon, use Amazon Smile at no extra cost to you. Amazon will then make a donation to Cavendish if you use this link – https://smile.amazon.co.uk/ch/1104261-0 and enter The Cavendish Centre as your chosen charity.
