  • Ladies Lunch June 2010

    July 15, 2010

Who would have thought chinwagging in the countryside could raise money for charity?

It was a little more involved than just coffee and conversation but the surroundings of the Maynard Arms in Grindleford, Hope Valley provided the backdrop for the latest Cavendish Centre Ladies Lunch on Thursday 17th June. Over £1600 was raised for the charity at the informal gathering in one of Derbyshire’s most well respected hotels in the heart of the Peak District.

The favourable weather allowed guests to stroll the gardens in the sunshine before the legendary chocolate based raffle teased each of the 100 ladies to their seats. In addition to the sweet treats a well-stocked raffle helped raise money for the centre as well as allowing many of the guests to go home with extra goodies! The hotel’s catering staff provided a two course lunch and every table was decorated with a floral centrepiece kindly donated by Flowers for Laura, sponsored by ‘A4E’ & Sheffield based communications and learning consultancy ‘The Workshop’
