  • Knock out support

    April 22, 2013

Two Local boxing stars fought hard to raise awareness of the work carried out by Cavendish Cancer Care and Weston Park Cancer Hospital. The Thunder and Lightning Boxing event was a sell out with over 2000 tickets  sold, which filled the arena at Ponds Forge International Sports Centre on Saturday the 13th April. Adam Etches and Scott Jenkins are managed by Richard Poxon, of Hatton Promotions. In an explosive display of power, the match saw Adam (The Bomber) Etches challenge for and receive his first professional title. He now holds the crown for the International Boxing Federation youth middle weight. Scott won his ninth straight lightweight victory and both boxers are pleased as punch.

Adam said ‘Usually a fight is a fight to us but it was great to fight for a good cause and know you’re helping someone else.’

In addition to raising the profile of both charities, a collection at the event raised £500
