Kath’s gone wild… and now she’s back!
April 4, 2018
Anyone who has been following our stories will know that our active volunteer and dear friend Kath has just endured an 8-day husky sled-trek in the frozen arctic… all in aid of Cavendish! And we’re happy to say it was a success! She’s now back on UK soil and she has this to say of her adventure;
I did it ….. I had an amazing time it’s been very long, tough days and extremely cold nights at -24 in tents using snow to cook & drink with. The husky’s were gorgeous strong packs of dogs and the team trekking group were a really friendly crowd. The sledge did go off trek a couple of times, where once the snow was so deep I finished up in a tree! Another day I fell into snow that met my shoulders and I lost my feet for a short while, I’m bit bruised.
Thank you for all your kind donations!
We just want to say on behalf of everyone at Cavendish a massive well done and thank you to Kath for all the hard work she’s put in to fundraising for us, reaching and bypassing her target of £11,000! Such an achievement and we’re very proud! If you’d like to help her keep stretching her fundraising target you can still donate on her Just Giving page.
Kath has sent us some pictures from her adventure and it looked incredible…
