    November 6, 2018

We are so pleased to have been selected as one of the Co-op’s chosen charities. This means that, for the next year, you can raise money for Cavendish simply by going shopping!

You need to be a Co-op member to join this scheme. It only costs £1 to join and you will earn that back, and much more, in rewards after a few visits. To become a Co-op member, sign up by clicking here (it only takes a second!) Then, once you are a member, you can select ‘Cavendish Cancer Buddies’ as your chosen charity project.

Please note: you must live within 15 miles of our centre (S10 2GB) to be able to select us.

When members buy Co-op own brand products and services, 1% is given to local causes. If you don’t select Cavendish, that money will be split between 3 causes close to the shop you are visiting. But if you do select us, all of it can come to us, no matter which Co-op you shop in!

    To choose Cavendish…

1.) Log into your member’s account.

2.) Follow the link to choose a project. If you can’t find us, set distance to the furthest reach (15 miles) and set your cause category to ‘Health’.

3.) Click on us (see picture on the left for reference), and select ‘back this project’.

That’s all you need to do! It’s an easy way to raise money for us AND rack up some rewards for yourself too!

If you want to go the extra mile for us, why not share this post on social media and encourage your friends and family in the local area to choose us too?

    More about our project…

Co-op is funding Cavendish Cancer Care’s Buddies Scheme.

The Buddies are a group of trained volunteers, supported by qualified therapy staff, who have either had cancer themselves, or cared for someone who has. The Buddies are paired with someone who is going through a similar situation, to offer emotional support and practical advice. The usual support is a weekly phone call, or meeting up to chat in a public space such as a coffee shop.

During the financial year 2017/18, 37 clients were referred and matched, and over 300 hours of support were provided.

The buddy scheme is self-referred: for more information, contact hilary@cavcare.org.uk.
