Master Cutler’s School Challenge
Welcome to the Master Cutler’s School Challenge
Who is the Master Cutler ?
There is a different Master Cutler each year and this year it is James Tear. Historically the Master Cutler would ensure that all manufacturing of cutlery, which our area is famous for, was of a high standard. These days they act as a worldwide ambassador for local manufacturing and engineering companies and host the Master Cutler’s Challenge to raise funds for charity.

The Master Cutler’s School Challenge is an ideal way to enjoy yourself and raise money for Cavendish Cancer Care. You can let your imagination run wild and come up with fun and enjoyable ways to raise money, we’ve even thrown some ideas to get you started inside your booklet.
Whether you are a baker or bike rider, jewellery maker or jogger, gamer or game player, Pokemon hunter or party planner – it’s up to you. Get sponsored or make and sell. Just have fun and raise vital funds for Cavendish Cancer Care.
As a local, independent charity, we are heavily reliant on fundraising and donations to keep our doors open.
We receive just a small contribution each year from the NHS in recognition of the role we play in supporting patients diagnosed with cancer within South Yorkshire and its surrounding areas; however, this small contribution would only keep our doors open for 2 weeks of the year.
This means we need to find at least £750,000 each year through other sources to keep the charity going, providing support for those who are affected by cancer each year as we do now. It’s thanks to people like you that we are able to continue providing our services, like counselling and therapy, free of charge.
So, what are you waiting for? Get your creative thinking caps on, we can’t wait to see what weird, wacky and wonderful ideas you come up with!
Good Luck!
