Kathryn, our Lockdown Legend!
October 26, 2020
Long-time supporter and Cavendish volunteer, Kathryn, took to her sewing machine in April and raised £1,030 for Cavendish services.
After her husband passed away, Kathryn was able to come to Cavendish to receive care and support to cope with her loss. As lockdown began to have a serious impact on the UK’s charities, Kathryn decided to raise awareness and support for Cavendish Cancer Care by taking part in the 2.6 Challenge. In memory of her husband, she sewed 26 sets of scrubs for the NHS and raised vital sponsorship money for Cavendish at the same time! Kathryn originally hoped to raise £200 with her sewing efforts, but the generosity of her friends and family meant that an amazing total of £1,030 was raised to help those affected by cancer.
