Coronavirus (COVID-19): Guidance for people using Cavendish Support Services and the Public
Cavendish Cancer Care is working to minimise the risks presented by COVID-19 and your cooperation is required. As a service user of Cavendish Cancer Care or a member of the public who supports Cavendish Cancer Care, we ask that you support us to help keep you, clients, staff and volunteers safe.

It is important that you DO NOT ATTEND Cavendish Cancer Care and contact NHS 111 if:

1. You have recently returned to the UK from somewhere with a higher risk of coronavirus. These places are:
o Cambodia
o China
o Hong Kong
o Iran
o Italy
o Japan
o Laos
o Macau
o Malaysia
o Myanmar (Burma)
o Singapore
o South Korea
o Taiwan
o Tenerife – only the H10 Costa Adeje Palace Hotel
o Thailand
o Vietnam

If you’ve been to one of these places in the last 14 days, find out what to do using the NHS 111 online coronavirus service.

2. You think you may have coronavirus. The symptoms of coronavirus are:
o a cough
o a high temperature
o shortness of breath

These symptoms do not necessarily mean you have the illness. The symptoms are similar to other illnesses that are much more common, such as cold and flu.

3. You’ve been in close contact with someone with coronavirus

4. You’ve been instructed to self-isolate by NHS 111 or a medical professional

If you are coronavirus free and attend the Cavendish Centre, we ask you help minimise the catching and spreading of coronavirus

Do
• wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds
• always wash your hands when you get home or into work
• use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available
• cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
• put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards
• try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell

Don’t
• do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean

Complementary therapy treatments which involve physical contact:
We have put in place additional precautions for therapies which involve physical contact, where the risk of spreading the virus is higher due to physical proximity. These steps include pre-session checks for both the therapist / and the client(s).
