30th Birthday Party raises £64,000
July 11, 2023
Cavendish Cancer Care hosted a ‘Proper Party’ on Saturday 1st July at Cutler’s Hall. Over 200 people joined us on the dancefloor to celebrate the successful growth of the charity over the last 30 years andhow we are building for the future of supporting local families affected by cancer.
On the night we heard from Kirsty (read her story here) who came to see us in 2020 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, and we supported her daughters through our Young People’s Service with art therapy.
The generosity of those on the night and through the online silent auction, £64,000 was raised which will fund our YPS room and the therapy in that room for a year.
The party was generously sponsored by local facilities management company, COOPS EMBS, meaning that every penny raised on the night was donated to help even more families who need us.
“We are incredibly grateful for all of the donations and support for our 30th Birthday Party. It was exactly what it says, a proper party and the dancefloor was bouncing. After 4 years, it was great to let our hair down and party with you all whilst raising an impressive amount for the charity.” – Emma Draper, CEO
