Small Group Sessions and Group Therapy
Group Support
At Cavendish we offer some group therapy sessions for clients. Our experienced assessors may recommend these groups to you as part of your support from us or for some groups you can refer yourself. These group sessions typically take place at the Tim Pryor Centre, 34 Wilkinson Street, S10 2GB. All groups are pre-book only and are free of charge.
ACT Sessions
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT for short, is a powerful scientifically based therapy proven to be successful in helping to improve the quality of life for people living with or recovering from cancer.
Attending these sessions will provide you with skills in dealing with difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, so they have less impact on your daily life. A key part of this therapy involves learning these skills in a therapist led session and practising them at home between sessions. These sessions are ideal for anyone struggling with anxiety, negative thoughts and fear of recurrence following cancer treatment.
Next Course:
Session 1: Wednesday 5th February, 10.00 am – 12.00pm
Session 2: Wednesday 12th February, 10.00 am – 12.00 pm
