  • Sunset Stomp

    July 11, 2019

Lace up your walking boots, pull on your wellies or tighten up your trainers. Come along for the Sunset Stomp!

This beautiful walk will take place outside the Norfolk Arms pub in Ringinglow on Thursday 11th July. You’ll set off at 5:30pm (arrival from 5:00pm), making it back in time to experience the sunset from the best vantage point – in a pub garden with some delicious gourmet BBQ fare in hand. If you can’t make it in time – no worries! Just let us know and get to us when you can.

Expect a bit of everything from the Sunset Stomp, with a mix of woodland, rocky paths, and some muddy stretches thrown in – all topped off with some of the most stunning scenery this side of Sheffield.

No traffic and no pressure to finish in a particular time – the only thing you’ll be racing is the sun! Rally the dog, the kids, and the office and explore what’s right on your doorstep. We’ll supply a map for you to guide you on your way, plus something fun to keep the kids entertained en route.

Registration for this event is now closed. Please contact us on 0114 275 4070 or email h.iredale@cavcare.org.uk for any questions.

There’ll be a two routes to choose from: a long one and a short one:

Route 1: The longest route is about 10k and will take you through Lady Cannings Plantation towards Higger Tor and back. You’ll see some gorgeous views of Burbage Rocks and beyond!

Route 2: The short route will go past the alpaca farm down the Mayfield Valley and through the winding woods of Porter Clough. This is the perfect stroll for those wanting to get back quicker.
