Team Cav in the Sheffield Half Marathon

We are delighted to be a partner charity of Jane Tomlinson’s Run for All in both the Sheffield 10K and Sheffield Half Marathon  

By joining Team Cav this running season you will be making a difference to many local families affected by cancer Last year we supported more than 1600 local families affected by cancer both in our Wilkinson street base the Cavendish Centre and directly on the wards at both Weston Park Hospital and at the Palliative Care unit at Northern General Hospital. Every one of those people were able to pick up the phone and get an appointment within 5 working days enabling them to access a free of charge package of care and support centred around  their needs.  We receive just enough statutory funding to keep our doors open for about two weeks each year, put simply we wouldn’t be here without the support of the local community and people like you doing challenges for us.

It provides time and space for children and young people to talk about their experiences of cancer in a safe environment without fear of causing upset to other family members. We support the whole family to live their best possible life, during cancer treatment and after, by helping each family member to cope and so reducing the emotional load and worries of other family members.”
