The competition will look to find the city’s most promising vocalists, with ten lucky winners short listed by a celebrity judging panel including Jon McClure of Reverend and the Makers.

Entrants are being asked to submit a cover track and make a donation of £10, all of which goes directly to support the work of Cavendish Cancer Care
Winners will get the chance to record in the newly refurbished state of the art studios at Yellow Arch, used by the city’s finest musical talent including Arctic Monkeys, Richard Hawley, Nancy Sinatra and Reverend and the Makers themselves.

The album will be made available to buy on iTunes, coinciding with a live showcase gig at Yellow Arch studios itself.

Andy Cook, Director at Yellow Arch Studios: “Cavendish Cancer Care provides essential care to people affected by cancer – not only to patients, but support to their carers, children and family. We are delighted therefore to support such a worthy cause and raise much needed funds to continue their good work in the region.
“Sheffield has always been renowned for its music and the showcase provides a perfect platform for aspiring vocalists to get experience of recording in a professional studio environment and exposure to industry figures.”

June Smailes, Deputy Chair at Cavendish Cancer Care said: “We are delighted to have the support of Yellow Arch Studios and are very excited to be involved in this venture. It’s a real opportunity to find the city’s greatest undiscovered talent.”
