Great Yorkshire Run

Andrea Roe and Fiona Melloy were amongst a number of people who recently unertook the Great Yorkshire Run in aid of our work. They also ran the Robin Hood Half Marathon. If you would like to sponsor them you can do do on http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/team/runningtohelp2012

Andrea decided to support out work becasue of the help we gave her sister and family. she said

“The kindness offered by Cavendish Centre is something that will never be fully repaid you are an amazing bunch. So I started to run. I haven’t run since I was 18 I then entered my first 10k which I ran in Sheffield and I have just completed my first half marathon on the 30th September 2012 on behalf of the charities who helped my sister get through the toughest time of her life. I’m no spring chicken and I’m asthmatic. I have had my bad days and good days, a few ankle sprains and the worst under arm sores ever, but that’s nothing in comparison to those going through Cancer treatment.

I would like to say a big thank you to Cavendish Centre you will never know how grateful my sister her family and myself are that you exist and long may you continue to do so”
