Cavendish Wellbeing Grief Workshop
How are you supporting your team through grief?
Grief: A subject that affects so many and yet is difficult to talk about at work, and with ourselves.
More than half of the UK population has experienced bereavement in the last 5 years, and less than a quarter (23%) feel comfortable talking to management about their loss. Equally managers who feel confident supporting bereavement are in the minority (17%).
Yet feeling supported during such key lifetime moments is crucial for workers nowadays. 57% of workers would consider leaving a role if they did not feel supported during bereavement and this increases to 77% for 18-34year olds.
And let’s not forget grief is about so much more than bereavement.
Loss in every sense impacts us, our relationships and our performance in all areas of life.
If you want to take action to support your team in understanding grief and opening the conversation, check out our grief workshop below.

Let’s Talk about Cancer
“We are concerned about our ability to provide the right emotional support.”
“We’re a tough manufacturing culture. We don’t do soft and fluffy very well.”
“I just don’t know what to say. I don’t want to put my foot in it and make things worse.”
Sound familiar? We can help.
We know 1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, which could be as much as 50% of your workforce.
But what happens when someone tells you they have cancer; do you freeze, grab the policy booklet and figure out ‘the plan’?
We’re here to help you do the human stuff, just like we do, how your language, actions and approach will impact that person and the rest of the company. We’ll help equip delegates with the skills and confidence to support those affected by cancer, be it with family, friends of colleagues.
