    Let’s Talk about Cancer

    At Cavendish Cancer Care, we have over 30 years experience in supporting people affected by cancer. Our free of charge services have been available in a one-to-one setting based at our Tim Pryor Centre and various outreach services across the city. We are best placed to help support you and your employees when this topic arises. We know 1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, which could be as much as 50% of your workforce.

    But what happens when someone tells you they have cancer; do you grab the policy booklet and figure out ‘the plan’?

    Or if someone needs time off for scans, treatment or to come and see us for some therapy; do they have an allocated number of days or even hours a month?

    We’re not here to re-write your policy documents, however we do know people who can help with that. We’re here to help you do the human stuff, just like we do, how your language, actions and approach will impact that person and the rest of the company.

    Let’s Talk about Rest

    If you sometimes wonder why after a great night’s sleep you still feel exhausted? Perhaps you need improved sleep habits or perhaps sleep is not the kind of rest your body needs. Rest and sleep are not the same thing. In our session “Let’s Talk About Rest” we will present the different types of rest we all need, why rest is important and how many of us are suffering with burnout. We will provide tips on how to develop good sleep practices and how to make restorative rest part of your routine. You will also receive access to an online platform with more information including exercises and worksheets to help implement the tips given in the session.

    • Business leaders, managers and executives; current and aspiring
    • Anyone in a coaching / mentoring /training role
    • Anyone with an interest in personal development
    • Anyone with a desire to better understand how to manage emotional health
    • Anyone who feels the need for a recharge

      • How a lack of rest can limit us
      • What burnout is
    • Techniques on:
      • How to help yourself rest in each of the key areas
      • How to develop good sleep habits
      • How to implement a personal restful routine

    Let’s Talk about Well-being

    Using the expertise of the Cavendish Cancer Care team, we are pleased to be able to offer a workplace overview of wellbeing, including hints and tips that your employees can adopt to help promote well-being. Our therapist will guide you with the importance of wellbeing in the workplace, and the benefits of good well-being. As well as this, you will have access to a range of techniques to practise at home or at work. These can be run at a time to suit you, and at the moment are being run virtually so you can have more people join.     Let’s Talk about Relaxation

    Using the expertise of the Cavendish Cancer Care team, we are pleased to be able to offer bespoke relaxation classes for businesses.     Using the expertise of the Cavendish Cancer Care team, we are pleased to be able to offer a range of Nutrition sessions for businesses. We will work with you to identify key areas you would like the sessions to explore such as maximising energy, beating the afternoon slump, productivity in the workplace and how to eat healthy whilst working hybrid.
