Fundraising and Support Team

marathon meChris Farrell, Chief Executive
Chris joined Cavendish Cancer Care as Chief Executive in September 2014 after over a decade working in the charity sector. Having previously headed up some of the most successful fundraising programmes in the UK, what excites him most about joining the Cavendish team is seeing the difference people can make when they come together to support the communities they live and work in. With three young sons, Chris spends his spare time marveling at the wonders of parenthood and at how much time he once had for hobbies and recreation.

janeJane Beatson, Head of Finance & Resources
Jane started working for Cavendish Cancer Care in 2008 as finance admin and became Head of Finance in 2013. Jane thinks it is a pleasure to work for a local charity that makes a huge difference to people’s lives. She lives with her partner David and they have four grown up children; Mark, Natalie, Ellie and Lydia. All but one has flown the nest but the apple of Jane’s eye is her grand-daughter Evie. So the name she most likes to be called is Nana.

jonnyJonny Cole, Fundraiser
Jonny came to Cavendish Cancer Care to help out for a month in 2006 after getting involved with us through a corporate partner and never left. Russ is really excited about developing the work of Cavendish and giving his best to meet the need of such essential services for the people of South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Ann joined Cavendish Cancer Care as an Assessor in 2004 attracted by the Centre’s holistic ethos which has always underpinned her practice and became Head of Therapy Services in 2013. Ann qualified as a nurse in 1984 and has several year experience of working in oncology. Running is another interest having completed four half marathons to help raise funds for the Centre.

dallasDallas McDade, Finance Administrator

Dallas came into the fold in 2003 when she was diagnosed with cancer. After her initial treatment she returned to work as a teacher, but soon discovered she was not the same person. However, this coincided with the Cavendish Centre needing admin support and now she is in Finance supporting Jane. She felt that in whatever way she could that she needed to help keep the doors open for others who would hear that same awful word. Life is good, shared with her dog Archie, who features regularly in Cavendish pictures!

Hilary joined the centre as the  Volunteer programme lead  in July 2015.  She came to us from the Alzheimer’s society where  she was supporting  and training volunteers across South Yorkshire.  She has already been amazed by the energy, enthusiasm and loyalty of the Cavendish volunteers and supporters who work tirelessly on our behalf.  When she is not at the Cavendish centre she is busy looking after her family but occasionally finds time to walk in the peak district or read a good book.
