    Let’s Talk about Cancer

“We are concerned about our ability to provide the right emotional support.”

“We’re a tough manufacturing culture. We don’t do soft and fluffy very well.”

“I just don’t know what to say. I don’t want to put my foot in it and make things worse.”

    Sound familiar? We can help.

At Cavendish Cancer Care, we have over 30 years experience in supporting people affected by cancer. Our free of charge services have been available in a one-to-one setting based at our Tim Pryor Centre and various outreach services across the city. We are best placed to help support you and your employees when this topic arises. We know 1 in 2 people will be affected by cancer in their lifetime, which could be as much as 50% of your workforce.

But what happens when someone tells you they have cancer; do you grab the policy booklet and figure out ‘the plan’?

Or if someone needs time off for scans, treatment or to come and see us for some therapy; do they have an allocated number of days or even hours a month?

We’re not here to re-write your policy documents, however we do know people who can help with that.

We’re here to help you do the human stuff, just like we do, how your language, actions and approach will impact that person and the rest of the company. We’ll help equip delegates with the skills and confidence to support those affected by cancer, be it with family, friends of colleagues.

Any session can be delivered live or “virtually” live to suit you. We can also organise pre-recorded sessions for shift / remote workers.

    Let’s Talk about Rest

Through our corporate partnerships and research we know that fatigue and poor sleep are key concerns for your teams.

Research also shows that despite more than 12 million people in the UK suffering with burnout symptoms less than a quarter of employees believe their company can spot the signs and help prevent the onset of burnout and chronic stress affecting performance and wellbeing.

In our session “Let’s Talk About Rest” we present the different types of rest we all need along with  tips on developing good sleep practices and making restorative rest part of your routine. We’ll help you spot the signs of burnout and see the benefits of an energised team. Participants will have access to an online resource powered by Teachable accompanying the course with questions to explore personal mindset around rest and video / audio content to support positive rest habits presented in the training.

Do you sometimes wonder why after a great night’s sleep you still feel exhausted?

Do you feel worn out but keep plodding on with your same routine?

Perhaps you need improved sleep habits or perhaps you need to recharge in a different way, sleep and rest are not the same thing. Where do you need to recharge?

Any session can be delivered live or “virtually” live to suit you. We can also organise pre-recorded sessions for shift / remote workers.

We’d love to discuss your current challenges and how we can work together to support your team’s wellbeing.

    Let’s Talk about Mindful Living

Mindful living can have huge benefits for managing positive wellbeing as well as pushing your personal development. We know that mindfulness is on the radar of our corporate partners and using the expertise of our team, we are pleased to be able to offer an overview of mindful living, to promote mindfulness in your organisation.

In our session “Let’s Talk About Mindful Living” we guide you through the benefits of mindfulness, whether practiced formally or informally, along with simple techniques to incorporate into your daily life at home and at work.

We will work with you to identify key areas you would like to explore.

Perhaps you would like a focus on mindful practice to maximise energy, productivity and creativity.

Perhaps your team’s main concerns revolve around managing emotions and a boost to positive morale.

Mindfulness and positive wellbeing habits can support each of these areas.

These can be run at a time to suit you and are available live or online, so more of your team can participate.

    Let’s Talk about You

One of our key values at Cavendish is taking a human based approach with science based knowledge.

We understand that every organisation is unique and every team, and individual, is at a different stage in their wellbeing awareness.

We would love to work with you to offer a more bespoke option to best resonate with your team. This could be:

    • Tailoring one of the above courses to have a “organisation specific” twist
    • Creating a completely bespoke session using our knowledge of the subject and your knowledge of your team. This could be anything from an Introduction to Wellbeing, to a specific aspect of Wellbeing such as Positive Mindset, or Emotional Management.
    • An interactive session such as relaxation, yoga or meditation with one of our qualified team
    • A physical and / or mental health screening to understand your team’s overall health status and changes that could be made to improve morale, absence management and effectiveness.

Any session can be delivered live or “virtually” live to suit you. We can also organise pre-recorded sessions for shift / remote workers.

We’d love to discuss your current challenges and how we can work together to support your team’s wellbeing.
